Fun in the sun at Tennessee Garden! ☀️🌱

What took place this past weekend was bigger than planting fruits and vegetables. It was about planting seeds of unity, responsibility, and hope right here in our community. Volunteers from all walks of life came together under the sun to help build a garden that will provide fresh organic fruits and vegetables to families in our neighborhood- completely free. As we worked side by side, listening to oldies music playing in the background and grilling food together, there was a spirit of joy, fellowship, and shared purpose that reminded me what community is truly supposed to look like.

Moments like these matter because they help restore something we’ve been missing for far too long- a sense of ownership and pride in where we live. When young adults come out and invest their own time, sweat, and energy into beautifying and feeding their community, they begin to see the neighborhood differently. They begin to protect it differently. They take stock in it because now a piece of them lives within it. That is how real change begins- not just through policy, but through people. Through service. Through relationships. Through neighbors deciding that we are going to take care of our own community together.

One of the most meaningful parts of the day for me was being able to bring my mother out to volunteer, meet new people, laugh, and experience that spirit of togetherness firsthand. It’s a memory I’ll carry with me for a long time. Special thanks to Arlene M. Doss, SNUG Niagara Falls, Entrepreneur School of Thought, Niagara Beautification Commission, Niagara United Vision, and Niagara Falls Professionals Under 40 for showing up and serving with love and dedication.

Thank God for such an amazing day of service. The future is bright when good people are willing to come together and do the work. 🌿💚
