A New Tradition Begins: Join Us for the Niagara Falls Fourth of July Children's Parade

Tomorrow, our community has the opportunity to be part of something truly special.

As America celebrates 250 years of independence, Niagara Falls will come together for our Fourth of July Children's Parade- a celebration of freedom, family, community, and the next generation.

This event is more than a parade. It's an opportunity to bring neighbors together, celebrate our nation's history, and inspire a renewed sense of pride in the city we all call home.

I want to extend my sincere gratitude to Gloria Dolson, whose vision, leadership, and tireless commitment have been the driving force behind bringing this parade to life. Organizing a community event of this size takes months of planning, countless volunteer hours, and an unwavering belief that Niagara Falls deserves traditions that unite people.

From the very beginning, Gloria and I shared a vision of hosting the parade along Main Street or Pine Avenue, ending at Hyde Park. We believed it would highlight two of our city's historic corridors while showcasing the pride and potential of Niagara Falls. Unfortunately, because of budget and logistical limitations, that route wasn't possible this year. Rather than let those challenges stop us, we chose to move forward and host the parade on Robbins Drive. Sometimes progress begins with taking the first step, and we believe this year's event can become the foundation for an even bigger celebration in the years ahead.

As the Parade Operations Committee Chair, I had the privilege of working alongside Gloria and an outstanding team of volunteers to help organize the event. My role included coordinating the parade lineup, organizing participating groups, working with community organizations and elected officials, helping manage staging and parade flow, and ensuring the event runs as smoothly and safely as possible. It has truly been a collaborative effort, and I couldn't be more grateful to everyone who contributed their time and talents.

This parade is about much more than waving flags. It's about teaching our children the importance of community. It's about celebrating the freedoms we enjoy as Americans while building pride in the place w

e live. It's about creating memories that families will carry with them for years to come.

Strong communities are built when people come together- not only during times of challenge, but also in moments of celebration.

My hope is that this Children's Parade becomes an annual Niagara Falls tradition that continues to grow each year, attracting more families, more community organizations, more local businesses, and more visitors. Events like these help strengthen community spirit, encourage civic pride, and remind us that Niagara Falls is more than one of the world's greatest destinations- it's home.

So bring your family, bring your lawn chairs, wave your American flags, and help us celebrate 250 years of freedom, unity, and the pride we have in our community.
